Vacant House Gutted by Flames | News

Firefighters in Wayne County were called out early Friday to battle flames at a vacant house.

Crews were called about 5 a.m. to a house on Route 196 in Sterling Township.

The fire chief said the house had been abandoned for at least 10 years.  All that is left are smouldering ruins.

Officials said this is the third suspicious fire in the area in the last few weeks.

A state police fire marshal will be called in to investigate.
