Husband Accused of Trying to Kill Wife
A man from Wayne County faces attempted murder and other charges after an argument with his wife.
Police were called to the home of Jesus Martinez-Escobar on Main Street in Honesdale early Friday morning after an argument between Martinez-Escobar and his wife.
Investigators said he tried to strangle his wife with an electric cord. When a family member interrupted, Martinez-Escobar stabbed himself in the chest, then left the apartment.
Martinez-Escobar is being treated at a hospital in Scranton. His wife was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment.
