Fire Destroys Home | News

Flames ripped through a home Saturday afternoon in Wayne County.

It happened at a house on Cemetery and Savitz Road in Salem Township.

The chief said when his crews arrived they found flames shooting through the roof of the home.

A neighbor said he saw smoke, kicked in the door, and rescued several pets.

A state police fire marshal will investigate the cause.

The American Red Cross said the family who lives there is out of town.

The home is a total loss, and the Red Cross does plan to help the fire victims.
